FAQ’s

How long does it last? How do I store it?

If using a fresh batch of spices the seasoning will last up to a year. I store in an airtight container or jar. To keep it from clumping you can use silica gel sachets inside the container.

Is there a big difference between taco and fajita seasoning?

They use mostly the same ingredients, however, taco seasoning tends to be spicier.

Notes

Storing:
  1. Airtight Container: Store the homemade fajita seasoning in an airtight container to maintain its freshness and prevent clumping.
  2. Cool, Dark Place: Keep the container in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight, to preserve the flavors.
Serving:
  1. Sprinkle or Rub: Sprinkle a teaspoon (or 4) of homemade seasoning directly onto meats and vegetables or rub it in for deeper flavor penetration.
  2. Marination: Use the seasoning as a dry rub for marinating proteins like chicken, beef, or shrimp before grilling or pan-cooking.
  3. When making chicken fajitas (or similar) I use it both as a dry rub and more in the sauce. Add a squeeze of lime juice, ( our very delicious) Enchilada sauce and bell peppers.

Seasoning is such an essential part of making fajitas and I’ve been wanting to try making my own instead of using store-bought ones so this is a recipe I want to try.

We are definitely advocates for home made and such a nice thing to have fajita seasoning on hand. We love our Raco Tuesdays, but like to change it up and do fajitas. Your seasoning has so many layers. Just the puck me up that a fajita needs. Nice share! ๐Ÿ‘ โค๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜

This was delicious and so much better than the jarred version. I usually make my own but never tried it with the chipotle pepper and coriander in it. It gave it a super vibrant taste that went perfectly with my chicken fajitas.

I use this often for taco chicken, fajitas and enchiladas. Although I eliminate the cayenne for my kids, itโ€™s wonderful!

This is my go to fajita seasoning. Itโ€™s so good! Last night we used it for crockpot fajitas.

  10. This would go great with some ribs to smoke in a smoker! Even to sprinkle on roasted potatoes.

Where would one find Mexican oregano?

Amazon. Or a veg market with the spice racks
