Baking Tips

1. Food Prep

The Pizza Base Mix can be made all at once and only a portion of it used if preferred. Simply cover the remaining dough in clingfilm or in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 3 days. Alternatively roll out all the bases and par-bake them then refrigerate or freeze flat in a ziplock bag.

2. Extra Flavour

Add herbs or seasonings to the packet mix if preferred. I do like to add an Italian Seasoning mix to mine.

Q. Can I mix the Pizza Base dough in the Thermomix?

Yes you can simply add all the ingredients to the mixer and mix 30 sec/speed 4. Scrape mixture from the bowl and roll into a bowl before cutting and shaping.

Q. Can I add seasonings to the Pizza Base?

Yes you can! I love Italian Seasoning in mine. Use any of your favourite spices, herbs (both fresh and dried) or seasonings in the base as well as the top.

Q. How to roll out the Base

Press the dough between 2 pieces of baking paper on a silicone mat. I always use Glad Bake as it never sticks to my doughs. Press the pizza base out using your hands and a cake scraper. Shape into a round base roughly 2-3mm thick. Prick the base with a fork before baking.

Q. Can I bake the Pizza Base in an air fryer?

Yes you can! Simply transfer the dough after rolling to the air fryer and bake at 170°C for 4 minutes. Top with toppings and return to air fryer and bake until cheese in bubbly and lightly golden 3-4 minutes
