🍓Homemade Sugar-Free Strawberry Yogurt

Let’s talk yogurt, but not the store-bought sugar bombs that pretend to be healthy. This homemade sugar-free strawberry yogurt is next-level easy and super creamy.

This is a no sugar yogurt recipe made with fresh strawberries. Naturally sweetened with the berries, it is perfect when it is strawberry season!

It’s high in protein (if you want it to be), low in carbs, gluten free, keto friendly and tastes like dessert, but works just as well for brekkie, a snack, or post-dinner “I-need-something” moments.

🥄 Why This Recipe Beats the Rest

Let’s be real: some homemade yogurts taste like sadness in a bowl 😂. Not this high protein strawberry yogurt recipe.
✔️ It’s fast – it literally takes 5 minutes.
✔️ No cooking involved (unless you want to get fancy).
✔️ Customisable AF – sweeten it your way, make it smooth or chunky, protein-boost it, or go dairy-free.
✔️ And the flavour? Pure fresh strawberries, not that fake lolly vibe.

Sugar Free Strawberry Yogurt ingredients laid on on a whit ebackground with labels so you know what they are.

The Ingredients

  • Fresh strawberries – you can use fresh or frozen strawberries. Don’t like strawberries? Use any fruit or mix-in’s you love!
  • Greek yogurt (plain, unsweetened – full fat Greek yogurt is best!) – I use plain Greek yogurt but you can use sugar-free protein yogurt, or homemade yogurt or keto yogurt. For dairy free, use coconut yogurt.
  • Sweetener of choice (xylitol, erythritol, allulose, sugar free maple syrup – whatever works for you). I actually skip this bit as I love the natural tartness of Greek yogurt with berries.
  • Unflavoured or vanilla protein powder (optional, but great for a protein hit). Use whey protein isolate to boost the protein. Use vegan protein or collagen peptides or collagen protein if you prefer.

🔥 Pro Tips

  • Want it extra thick? Stir in 1 tbsp chia seeds or an extra scoop of protein and leave it overnight.
  • For ultra creamy results, mix in a food processor or blender.
  • For a sugar free frozen yogurt, freeze in an ice cube tray and blend in a food processor, Thermomix, or churn in an ice cream maker.

Variations

  • Blueberry Vanilla Yogurt: Swap strawberries for fresh or thawed frozen blueberries, add vanilla.
  • Homemade Strawberry Frozen Yogurt: Use my keto frozen yogurt recipe as the base and add mashed strawberries and 1-2 scoops of whey protein isolate or casein protein. The protein will make the frozen yogurt scoopable and extra creamy.
  • Mango Coconut Yogurt: Use mango (or for a keto mango yogurt use extract) and stir in coconut yogurt and shredded coconut.
  • Lemon Raspberry Yogurt: A few raspberries and a splash of lemon juice = zingy goodness.
  • Chocolate Strawberry Yogurt: Add a tsp of cocoa and use vanilla protein powder—yep, it’s like dessert. Or, even better, stir through some keto chocolate fudge sauce!
  • Chai Spiced Yogurt: A pinch of homemade chai spices + strawberries = cozy vibes.

💡 Fun & Funky Uses for This Yogurt

  • Dip it – serve it as a dip for sliced strawberries, apple (if you’re into that), or even keto cookies.
  • Spread it on low-carb bread toasted with extra berries.
  • Swirl it into overnight oats (low-carb, of course) or keto porridge.
  • Use it as a base for a creamy smoothie bowl.
  • Top it on warm cobbler-style low-carb desserts instead of cream.

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  1. Dollop on top of almond flour pancakes or protein waffles.
  2. Spoon into jars for grab-and-go breakfasts.
  3. Serve with low-carb granola, high protein granola, or chia pudding.
  4. Layer into parfaits with nuts and seeds.
  5. Freeze into yogurt pops. Or, even better try it in the Frozen Strawberry Yogurt Clusters!

How To Use It

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely! Just thaw them first and drain excess liquid if you don’t want it runny. Frozen berries are a budget-friendly choice and work just as well.

My go-to is xylitol or allulose. They don’t crystallise and taste closest to sugar. Stevia or powdered erythritol works too, just keep tasting and adjusting.

Totally. Coconut yogurt is fab here, and almond milk yogurt is another option. Just make sure it’s unsweetened and thick so it doesn’t go watery.
