Why We Love This Keto Burger Recipe

This keto burger recipe is super simple. With 2 ingredients and less than 1 net carb per serve, you are going to love it. For me, the addition of the Ranch Seasoning was a revelation. It adds so much flavour to the ground meat. Here are just a few of the reasons why I love this recipe so much.

There are only a couple of ingredients in the burgers themselves. But, there is also the extras to make a keto Big Mac style burger. Here is everything you will need to make them. You can, however ,add anything you want to your burger.

Beef Mince. I use a grass-fed 80/20 fatty beef mince. I like to mix it 50/50 with some pork mince but that is my personal preference. The leaner the beef you use, the faster it needs to be cooked as lean beef can dry out.

Ranch Seasoning. You can use my Ranch Seasoning recipe to make your own ranch without fillers. It is simple to make and adds so much flavour to the burgers. Alternatively, you could Taco Seasoning for a Mexican-inspired burger, or simple salt and pepper.

Salt flakes. I always season my burgers with salt flakes on the actual patties. When placed onto a hot, dry pan or grill, it forms a crackly salty crust on the burgers.

Big Mac Sauce. The Big Mac Special Sauces you find in the supermarket are filled with sugar. It is so easy to make your own. My Big Mac Sauce recipe is one of our most popular recipes. Another great sauce to serve with our keto burgers is the Ranch Dressing, damn it is good too!

How to Make It

Step 1. Place the mince into a large mixing bowl. Add the ranch seasoning and mix with your hands until the mince is well combined.

Step 2. Form the mince into large patties. I use an oversized egg ring to form my burgers. Season each side of the burger liberally with salt and pepper. This is an optional step but aside from seasoning the meat the salt flakes also help to form a tasty golden crust on the outside of the burger when cooked.

Step 3. Grill, barbecue or pan-fry the burger to your liking. Serve on a bun, naked, wrapped in lettuce or with your favourite keto sauce recipes and toppings.

Can I freeze keto burgers?

Yes, you can. Freeze cooked or raw. Place a piece of baking paper between them to make it easier to separate if needed.

What meat do I use to make a keto burger?

You can use any ground meat or plant-based meat you prefer. I use an 80/20 meat to fat ground beef.

Ingredients 

  • 400 g (14 oz) beef mince (ground beef) or pork/beef mince combination
  • 1 teaspoon (1 teaspoon) Ranch Seasoning use store bought or use the link to make your own
