Why We Love this recipe

Is whipped cream keto? It sure is with the use of a keto sweetener (or none at all). This is such an easy whipped dessert. This low carb whipped cream is also a tasty version of chantilly cream. It is perfect to use in your favourite keto cream pie recipes.

Versatile – this super tasty keto whipped cream recipe is so versatile. Use it as a simple whipped cream keto dessert. Or with some berries or grated sugar-free chocolate. It is also perfect to serve with something like Keto Chocolate Mousse or Keto Chocolate Silk Pie to add sweetness to the bitter chocolate.

Low carb – homemade keto whipped cream is only 1g net carbs per serve. Unlike the stuff that comes in cans this is a sugar-free whipped cream.

Everyday ingredients – easy cheap ingredients that most of us will have in our fridge and pantry.

Quick and easy – less than 5 minutes and it is done!

Thermomix friendly – this sugar-free whipped cream is so easy in your ThermomixMagimix or food processor. Made on almost no time and easy cleanup.

The Ingredients

Scroll to the bottom of this post for the amount of each ingredient needed to make keto whipped cream.

There are only 3 ingredients in my keto whipped cream. Only one of those ingredients is absolutely needed (cream) and the other two are optional.

Thickened or heavy cream. To make keto whipped cream you need to use either thickened or heavy cream. They can be with or without thickeners. Pouring or single cream does not whip. For a dairy-free keto whipped cream, you can use coconut cream. This makes for a perfect keto vegan whipped cream.

Powdered sweetener. I use Sukrin Melis powdered sweetener. It is zero calorie and zero carb. For me, it also has no cooling after effect so it is my sweetener of choice for this recipe. Use whatever you prefer and add as little or as much to your personal taste. I like whipped cream as it is without any sweetener but I have to say making it this way is pretty delicious too.

Vanilla Extract. I use a thick vanilla paste but you can use vanilla extract, essence or seeds.

How to Make it

Keto whipped cream is so easy to make at home. Here are the simple steps you need to make it. Scroll down to the recipe card for more details

Step 1. Add the cream to a large mixing bowl.

Step 2. Add the sweetener and vanilla to the cream.

Beaters covered in whipped cream.

Step 3. Beat until stiff peaks form. Serve immediately or keep chill until needed.

Whipped Cream in a Thermomix

Whipping cream in Thermomix is super simple. Here is a quick guide on how to make whipped cream in the Thermomix (and Magimix) regardless of the model.

Step 1. Insert the butterfly. Add all the ingredients to the mixer; mix speed 3/cap off until soft peaks (around 30-45 sec) or longer to stiff peaks. Don’t over-whip or your cream will become butter!

To make the whipped cream in a Magimix insert the whisk attachment. Add all the ingredients. Whisk on Speed 6-7 until the cream forms soft or stiff peaks, as preferred.

Hot Tips and FAQs

What is the difference between heavy cream and whipping cream?

Pretty much it is just a slight difference in fat content. You can use either for this recipe.

Can I use pouring cream instead? Can I whip single cream?

No. It won’t whip and thicken the same as heavy or thickened cream. Single cream or pouring cream is not for whipping.

Can whipped cream be frozen?

No, it cannot. It will not hold its structure if frozen.

How do you make dairy-free whipped cream?

You can simply substitute the same quantity of coconut cream in this recipe to make a keto vegan whipped cream.

Is whipped cream in a can keto?

No, it usually containers sugar. Just make your own.

Tip for the Best Sugar Free Whipped Cream
  1. Chill and Prepare: Ensure your stand mixer bowl or mixing bowl and beaters are thoroughly chilled. This step is essential for achieving the perfect whipped consistency.
  2. Whip it Up: Pour the heavy whipping cream into the chilled bowl. Begin whipping on low speed, gradually increasing to medium-high speed. As the cream thickens, incorporate the powdered erythritol for a touch of sweetness.
  3. Vanilla Elegance: Add the vanilla extract to the cream as it continues to whip. At this point you can add extracts to flavor the cream. Add 1/2-1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa or cacao to make a delicious keto friendly chocolate whipped cream.
  4. Soft Peaks to Perfection: Watch closely as the cream thickens and soft peaks form. Be cautious not to overwhip, as it can lead to a grainy texture.
  5. Serving Brilliance: Spoon your luscious Keto Whipped into individual serving dishes. This velvety cloud of delight can stand alone as a divine dessert or serve as a luxurious topping for your favorite low-carb treats.
  6. Storage Wisdom: If you find yourself with leftovers, store your Keto Whipped in an airtight container in the fridge. Although it’s best enjoyed fresh, it can retain its texture for a day or two.
Feel free to experiment with flavored extracts like almond or coconut for a tasty twist. For those avoiding dairy, coconut cream can be an excellent substitute for heavy whipping cream.
I use powdered erythritol in place of powdered sugar to make the cream low carb. You can use any powdered sweetener of choice..
If after chilling the mixture has separated gently stir with a spoon to combine or lightly whip to bring it back together.
Spoon onto your favourite keto smoothies like our Blueberry Smoothie. Serve with your favourite keto desserts like, keto cheesecake or stir through our Keto Lemon Curd or add Pumpkin Spices to make a very tasty low carb mousse. This cream is a perfect filling for our gluten free keto donuts. Served with fresh strawberries for a healthy dessert that everyone will love.
