The Ingredients

Scroll to the bottom of this post for the amount of each ingredient needed to make keto whipped cream.

There are only 3 ingredients in my keto whipped cream. Only one of those ingredients is absolutely needed (cream) and the other two are optional.

Thickened or heavy cream. To make keto whipped cream you need to use either thickened or heavy cream. They can be with or without thickeners. Pouring or single cream does not whip. For a dairy-free keto whipped cream, you can use coconut cream. This makes for a perfect keto vegan whipped cream.

Powdered sweetener. I use Sukrin Melis powdered sweetener. It is zero calorie and zero carb. For me, it also has no cooling after effect so it is my sweetener of choice for this recipe. Use whatever you prefer and add as little or as much to your personal taste. I like whipped cream as it is without any sweetener but I have to say making it this way is pretty delicious too.

Vanilla Extract. I use a thick vanilla paste but you can use vanilla extract, essence or seeds.

Whipped Cream in a Thermomix

Whipping cream in Thermomix is super simple. Here is a quick guide on how to make whipped cream in the Thermomix (and Magimix) regardless of the model.

Step 1. Insert the butterfly. Add all the ingredients to the mixer; mix speed 3/cap off until soft peaks (around 30-45 sec) or longer to stiff peaks. Don’t over-whip or your cream will become butter!

To make the whipped cream in a Magimix insert the whisk attachment. Add all the ingredients. Whisk on Speed 6-7 until the cream forms soft or stiff peaks, as preferred.

Hot Tips and FAQs

What is the difference between heavy cream and whipping cream?

Pretty much it is just a slight difference in fat content. You can use either for this recipe.

Can I use pouring cream instead? Can I whip single cream?

No. It won’t whip and thicken the same as heavy or thickened cream. Single cream or pouring cream is not for whipping.

Can whipped cream be frozen?

No, it cannot. It will not hold its structure if frozen.

How do you make dairy-free whipped cream?

You can simply substitute the same quantity of coconut cream in this recipe to make a keto vegan whipped cream.

Is whipped cream in a can keto?

No, it usually containers sugar. Just make your own.
