The BEST Keto Bread Recipe with Almond Flour
The one thing most of us miss when we first change to a low-carb lifestyle is bread. The convenience of bread for sandwiches or even a simple grilled cheese sandwich toastie is something that can undo all our good intentions when we first start. This keto sandwich bread is a great substitute for the real thing.
Many low carb breads are very seedy. This recipe has no seeds. Yes, I have sprinkled a few sesame seeds on the top of my loaf, but that is because I love them.
I hope you give it a go and enjoy it as much as I have. It really is a great-tasting low carb bread that is perfect for sandwiches or even just served slathered in salty butter!

Tips & Tricks
- For all tablespoon measures, I use a metric tablespoon which is a 15 ml measure. I have also included the weights of the ingredients so your bread turns out perfect every time. Plus, it is also great if you are use a Thermomix to make this easy keto bread recipe.
- If you store eggs in the fridge here is my simple tip to quickly bring them to room temperature. Pop them into a large bowl and cover them with warm water. Leave them for 60 seconds in the water and this will take the chill off them. Room temperature eggs are the secret to keto bread without the eggy taste.
How Easy it to Make Keto Bread
Step 1. Preheat oven to 170℃ fan/190°C static (375°F). Line a 23 x 10 cm (9 x 4 inch) loaf pan. (I use a loaf pan with a lid). Add all ingredients to a large bowl and mix to combine well.
Step 2. Pour into the loaf pan. I use a loaf pan with a lid. Smooth over the top of the loaf with a wet spatula or wet fingers. If you don’t have one cover the pan with foil.
Step 3. Bake for 45-50 minutes. Remove the lid (or foil) for the last 5 minutes of baking.
Step 4. Transfer the loaf to a cooling rack and leave to cool completely before slicing.

Hi Megan. I always thought that 1 metric cup of almond meal equaled 100g. Can you please confirm if you use 180g of almond meal or 1.5 cups? Thanks so much. Sam
-
120g is 1 cup of almond meal.

This keto bread recipe is pretty darn perfect! Nothing like a good, low carb, homemade bread recipe! -
What if I put in two less yolks, but added two extra whites. Wouldn’t that help alleviate some of that eggy taste? Do you think that would negatively affect the bread? Thanks!
-
you could try it but it may be a drier bread.

I love the sound of this gluten free keto bread. Going to give it a try at the weekend. My sister doesn’t eat carbs and when she comes to stay she brings her own bread but I’d love to surprise her with this one! -
Stumbled upon this Best Keto Bread Recipe, and it’s an absolute lifesaver for those on the low-carb path! The texture is surprisingly close to traditional bread, and the taste is fantastic. -
Your recipes never cease to and this one is no exception. What a delicious keto bread recipe. It tastes fantastic, and we were delighted at how easy it was to make. Thanks for another wonderful recipe. -
I’m always trying new gluten-free bread recipes and always disappointed. This one is great. Thank you! -
I have friend who’s recovering from surgery and loves bread. Since she’s on a keto diet, I haven’t been able to make much for her, but I’m making this bread to take to her later this week. I know she’ll love it. -
Had a snow day and all the ingredients to whip up a batch of this bread while stuck inside. Came out great! Gonna try to toast it for breakfast tomorrow! -
Your answer is pretty ambiguous about the weighing of the eggs. Are the eggs weighed in the shell?
-
Hey Don, sorry the eggs are without the shell. I weigh as I add them in.
-
-
If you separate the eggs, and whisk the whites, you should achieve a lighter texture and therefore better rise….just my $0.02
-
I am confused reading all the comments! unfortunately it soooo tastes of eggs 🥴 where did I go wrong!? followed the exact descriptions ….
-
Suprised with so many eggs that it does not taste eggy
-
Just wondering if this can be made in a bread maker at all?
Thinking I may try and see if it works!-
I haven’t tried it in the bread maker sorry.

Making this right now……. wish me luck 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Oh wow, thanks a bunch Megan, a hit with my family! Even my 9 month old adored it! Def a keeper and will be sharing this with family and friends!💖 -
Might be a silly question but are the eggs weighed with or without shells-
Yes they are jenny
-
Hi. Is this with or without the shell? Thanks Megan.
-
Yes Kim
-
-
Mine didn’t rise so well …. made entirely as directed. Any thoughts?
Taste is brilliant though, going very nicely at the moment with mashed avocado and lemon pepper. Incredibly easy to throw together.
To those who are asking – you can’t even taste the coconut, so don’t worry about subbing!
-
Hi Lindy, 3 things really affect rise. Bobs Red Mill Double Action baking powder makes a HUGE difference. The eggs regardless of how many need to weigh 560g in total weight. Lastly pan size if you use a larger pan this can also affect the rise considerably. I don’t think it affects the taste at all but these are the main 3 things I find work better. (as a side not I also think fresh milled flaxseeds also help as well) Glad you like it, and I agree I taste no coconut flour in the mixture.
So is it 1 net carb per slice?
-
Yes it is
Thanks Megan
